The center is being developed against a grim national backdrop. As of 2024, over 31% of graduates in Pakistan are unemployed, and that number is even higher for women—an alarming 51%, compared to around 16% for men, according to the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE).
This challenge is compounded by the fact that the majority of these graduates lack skills relevant to the modern workforce. Fields such as engineering, computer science, and agriculture are witnessing graduate unemployment rates as high as 20–30%.
