Leadership event held at AmaaniBagh

In a rapidly evolving global economy, where technology is constantly reshaping industries and redefining career paths, the urgency to equip Pakistan’s youth with relevant, future-proof skills has never been greater.

Every year, two million young people enter the job market, yet Pakistan faces a troubling paradox: nearly 1.5 million graduates remain unemployed, signaling a deep disconnect between education and employability.

Enter the Pathfinders Center of Excellence for Skills, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship—a transformative initiative that aims to bridge this divide and prepare the next generation for the demands of the 21st century

• A Vision for the Future
This bold initiative is being spearheaded by Mr. Ikram Sehgal, Chairman of the Pathfinder Group, the center represents a strong commitment to revamping the education-to-employment pipeline in Pakistan. With strategic input from industry, the center will be built upon a foundation of deep expertise across education, strategy, and innovation.

The center is being developed against a grim national backdrop. As of 2024, over 31% of graduates in Pakistan are unemployed, and that number is even higher for women—an alarming 51%, compared to around 16% for men, according to the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE).

This challenge is compounded by the fact that the majority of these graduates lack skills relevant to the modern workforce. Fields such as engineering, computer science, and agriculture are witnessing graduate unemployment rates as high as 20–30%.

The Pathfinder’s Center is envisioned as more than just an educational facility—it is intended to represent a mindset shift. It seeks to empower youth through practical learning, cutting-edge digital training, and a robust entrepreneurial framework.
